Lots of texture - slipped stitches in 2 lengths with an accent of a contrasting angora for the trim. Yarns are hand dyed from the clever hands of Fleece Artist. Accent is the softest ever angora - Peter Rabbit. Will ship in Fleece Artist Merino 2/6, Sea Wool and Casbah with enough Peter Rabbit for the trim and accents.

Lace, with nupps - but only a few - or add some more if you like. Sampled in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Color Commentary "Ysolda's Red". Will ship in Shepherd Sock nearly solid colours.

June is flowers! The sock this month is all about Poppies - with large ones adorning both the back of the ankle and the top of the foot and smaller ones on the front of the ankle. Knitted in a self-patterning yarn against an inky background, Poppy celebrates spring! Will ship in Regia and Kroy in reds, greens and blues with a solid dark background of charcoal grey, black or navy blue

Yarn is Lorna's Laces lovely Shepherd Sock and will ship in the colours shown (Tuscany, Gold Hill and Cedar) and a purple/blue version (Lakeview, Purple Iris, Blackberry). Delish!

January's Sock of the Month in a wonderful colour in a highly textural pattern to show off its beauty (Fleece Artist BFL Socks). Easy to remember, very effective and may just become my new favourite. All kits will be shipping in this colour

Filigree

Warm your feet this winter with a pair of pinstripe house socks in double coated Icelandic wool for extra coziness. Knitted at a much firmer than ballband gauge these will keep your toes toasty. Sock of the Month members also get a bonus wristwarmer pattern in the same pinstripe. Ummm - warmmmm!

Doublette

Pretty and colourful butterflies set against a dark background. Faux fair isle with a lovely variegated alpaca blend sock yarn. Heel is 2-colour eye of partridge and the line of butterflies on the sole is set off by a 2-colour corrugated rib. Charted. Kits will ship in Estelle Arequipa - a particular favourite of mine.

Flutter By

Mosaic knitting in a fingering weight bamboo blend yarn with a solid for contrast. Choose to knit the coloured yarn in garter stitch for more texture or do the whole thing in stocking stitch for a smoother look. Heel is short rowed and garter stitch. Garter stitch toe may be more pretty that practical - you choose! Will ship in a variety of colours - reds, oranges, browns, blues and greens.

Labyrinth

I think Ms Austen might call these singular. Knitted modularly and then stitched together with an overcast for dimension, the triangles and squares are worked as they would be for a shawl. If only the Miss Bennets had Noro yarns to work with! Knitted in Noro Silk Garden Sock (shipping in a variety of colours) with Fortissima Socka in black or dark grey. Curious indeed!

Love that Cascade Fixation - soft and stretchy! Bud is a combo of a little bit of 2-colour knitting with a lot of texture. An easy 4 row repeat provides the texture and a few little buds of colour against a solid - just enough bobbles for interest. Shipping mostly in the colour show with a few variations.

Knots and Crosses

Reminiscent of ancient tiles, this faux fair isle on a silver ground is based on motifs from old Anatolian sock designs. A self-patterning yarn does some of the work for you. Shipping in Lang Aktion and Fortissima/Socka.

Antioch

Waves and ripples, a few twisted stitches and a wave lace cuff in a supremely lovely yarn (Malabrigo Sock)! Make it lacy by leaving the yarn overs open, or close them up by twisting them on the next round. Either way this is an easy sock with a bit of an attitude. River

Multiple marvelous mosaic motifs may be knitted in stocking or garter stitch depending on your whim - or mix it up. Contrasting solids work well and so would a solid with a variegated or hand dyed. Mosaic knitting is a great introduction to 2 colour knitting since each round is knitted with only 1 colour at at time. Curlicue

Andante is a sock that will look great in just about any fingering or sock weight yarn on the planet. An easy 2 -line pattern, this sock is 1 step above plain jane - we all need a break now and then - but much more interesting to knit that straight stocking stitch. Named after "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost - one of my favourite poems. Snowflakes, evergreen trees, sparkling lights and stars in a wintry design. Shipping in green, red, lilac and turquoise - all with cream - Fortissima/Socka, a great classic sock yarn.

Two socks dance in a Latvian theme - one is in full regalia with braided cuff and accents and 4 different Latvian mitten motifs - this one is called "Ilze", the other is a little more casual with garter stitch cuff and 1 single, beautiful Latvian motif (and a differently patterned sole) - called "Brigita". Both dance in Arequipa Paints and Solids.

An abundance of cables - braided and horseshoe - set off by a pinstripe along the sides - how very formal! and fun! Newest addition to my ever growing family of faux fair isle socks. this one, like Bird Foot and Istanbul before it, is based on old Anatolian patterns. Coloured self-patterning yarn set against a solid background. Just a simple sole and heel to offset the curls and hooks of the ankle and instep.

Strands of a prettily hand dyed yarn overlay a nearly solid companion yarn for a smocked sock. The smocking or quilting spreads out as it reaches the foot and becomes random on the instep. An intermediate sock. Shipping in Araucania Ranco Multy and Solid

Patterns borrowed from traditional African mud cloth motifs. Fingering/sock weight yarn in black and cream - or switch out the cream for a variegated yarn. Will ship in Fortissima/Socka

Mud Foot

Texture zigzags back and forth across the angle and merges in the centre of the foot in this clog sock for those cool spring days when your feet need just a little more warmth. Yarn is a wool alpaca cashmere blend that is lovely to work with and soft on the feet.

A trio of classic patterns for a wardrobe of lacy socks. Feather and Fan, Vine and Old Shale Lace, plus a couple of variations for even more variety.
